Barbara and her husband Nels live in Pendleton, Oregon on a ranch. She has owned horses and been singing for most of her life.
"Back to My Boots & Saddle", her second album, has been nominated for Cowboy-Western Swing Album of 2008 for the Western Music Association. Her next album, "Round-Up Ready" was also nominated in 2009 in the same category.
In January,2010, "Round-Up Ready" had risen to #l on the Rope Burns chart of Western Swing albums and the lead-off song "Cow Cow Boogie" was the #3 most played single.
A new cd, "When I Was a Cowgirl", was completed in November 2009 and was released in May of 2010.
